Full-Time Internship | Onsite | Duration: 3 Months (Stipend based on interview performance)
Position overview
Join as a Backend Developer Intern to help build the core server-side infrastructure for an AI-powered product attribute extraction tool used to generate marketplace-ready CSV/Excel sheets for platforms like Amazon, Shopify, and Flipkart. Work on integrating AI/ML models for image processing, managing data pipelines, and ensuring scalable, high-performance APIs in close collaboration with the Product Manager and frontend team for rapid MVP development.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in designing and implementing RESTful/GraphQL APIs for image upload, attribute extraction workflows, and sheet generation/export.
- Help integrate third-party AI services (OpenAI Vision, Google Vision API) or custom ML models for accurate attribute detection from product images.
- Work on database design and optimization (PostgreSQL/MongoDB) to store attributes, user data, and generated sheets with efficient querying.
- Support implementation of secure authentication (JWT/OAuth), file handling (S3 or similar object storage), and async processing queues for high-volume image analysis.
- Contribute to monitoring, logging, error handling, and basic automated tests to maintain reliability and scalability for growing upload volumes.
Required skills and qualifications
- Pursuing or recently completed Bachelor’s in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Academic or personal project experience in backend development using Python (FastAPI/Django/Flask), Node.js (Express/NestJS), or Java Spring Boot.
- Basic understanding of databases (SQL/NoSQL), REST APIs, and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) plus familiarity with Docker and CI/CD concepts.
- Interest or exposure to AI/ML integration, image processing libraries (OpenCV/Pillow), and API documentation tools (Swagger/Postman).
- Proficiency with Git, unit/integration testing basics (Jest/Pytest), and a strong problem-solving and communication mindset.
